I know we live in Florida, but the geography of the state's central-east coast is much different than what's in our back yard. Life in the Keys is all about the boat. Upstate, it's all about the beach, baby! Here's a peek at our family vacation in:
Ahh, the beach. Blissfully unpopulated. Space to run and explore and wander and relax. And did I mention run?
It was Finley's first trip to the beach. He loved it. So much so, that he "sprained" his tail muscles from all his racing and swimming. He couldn't lift or wag his tail for the next 2 days! Worth it? Oh yeah.
That's Steve throwing his boogie-board moves.
When we weren't at the beach, you'd find us at the house's lovely lanai and pool.
Or at the pond that's just 10 steps out the back door.
Both kids honed their freshwater fishing skills. Often by swimming in the pool until Steve would announce "fish on!" to which the kids would come running and reel it in.
Then it was back to the beach.
More running! (Not for me - I enjoyed daily 40-minute walks on the beach, thank you.)
More marveling at the endless, lovely, intricate wonders of nature.
And just watching the waves roll. Heavenly.
Thank you, Paula and Coyle, for offering your home for our enjoyment. A treat for us all, impossible without your generosity. XOXO!
