Awesome, exciting, exhausting...
What an experience to welcome your child into the world.
All your wonderful texts, e-mails and phone calls and good vibes helped get us through the rough spots!
Here are a few images that pretty much sum up our last 72 hours.
Hi Grama! Grama Karen arrived Tuesday, for two weeks, to care for Ben -- who unfortunately was not feeling his best. Little fever, little cough, little teething... nothing some grandparent TLC can't fix.
All's well! Wednesday, shortly after 8:21 a.m., daddy Steve cuts the cord.
That's all?? She weighed in at 7 lbs. 11 oz. I was sure she'd be a 10-pound baby, the way she moved around inside!
All smiles.... A happy, healthy baby is the most wonderful blessing.
Zzzzzzz. Now for a little rest.
Say cheese! First phone photo.

Ben and Grama Karen visited the next day. It took Ben a while to warm up to her. (He's still working on it).
Soon he was asking to hold "beebee sister."
And investigating her tiny features was kind of fun... but so was the hospital bed with lots of buttons, which he moved on to next.
By Friday afternoon we were given the OK to go home!
She traveled in the little "kimono" that my mom, aunt, uncle and I wore after our birth days. It was embroidered by her namesake great-grandma Lois McDowell.
Ben tries to wear Sidney's socks.
A vision in pink :)Sam and Mindy Kaufman were the first to meet her, on their way to the airport.
The rest of us are doing well and truly appreciate all your warm wishes. We're all blessed to be a part of such a big "family!" So give us your updates too, 'cause we'll keep ours coming.
