Post-Fay, Pre-Vacation

Despite what the Weather Channel would have you think, the Keys faired fine through Fay. We never lost power, only lost leaves from the trees, and needed the good soaking rain. Grama Karen, who had returned for more grandkid immersion, helped provide relief entetainment to a slightly stir-crazy 2 year old.

Technology backed up what we witnessed out our window: we were A-Ok.
Palm trees still bowed to tropical storm winds the day after Fay passed through. New games were invented, like "Sidney Up High," above. My favorite was Ben's own doing, shown below:

Translation: "To infinity, and beyond!" A la Buzz Lightyear from the movie Toy Story. Ben can also somersault and do a 2-second handstand on his own. I think that marks the transition from toddler to tumbler.

In other family news, below are a few shots of the Naperville Baleiko clan's recent trip to Las Vegas and the Hoover Dam.

Next, the four Friedmans will road trip to Melbourne, FL for a little vacation and change of scenery. Reports show a lot of flooding in that area, but Steve's aunt (who's house we're staying at) says her neighborhood is fine. We'll have no internet or TV at the house, so someone call us if another storm starts brewing out there!
